Hip Hip Hooray with Gemma

I love a typographic greetings card. Hello Bluebird have lots of fabulous alpha die sets to choose from when creating your own sentiment.   I selected the Charlie Large Outline Alpha and the Charlie Alpha die sets to create my birthday greeting. These are the same font, just in different sizes and with the addition of an outline on the larger set. I die cut the letters several times from white card stock and adhered them together to get a stacked look. I also die cut the letters from yellow and orange card stock, for pops of colour.  ...

Blue Skies Ahead with Gemma

Today I have a card featuring the sweet Singing in the Rain stamp set. These ducklings are so cute! To create a CAS scene card, I cut a piece of blue patterned paper with one of the Nesting Deckle Mini-Slimline dies. I adhered this to a horizontal A2 card, with some white space underneath to ground the images. The images from the Singing in the Rain stamp set are stamped in black ink and coloured with copic markers, then die cut with the coordinating dies. I keep a box of coloured images ready to use for future cards. All...

Balloon Dog with Gemma

Today I have a birthday card to share, featuring the Carried Away and Balloon Buddies stamp sets. I had a recipient in mind for this card, who has recently got a puppy. I removed as much ink as I could from the balloon string and eye patch details, as I won’t need these for my puppy. I coloured the dog with neutral grey copic markers, to resemble the recipients puppy. I used the coordinating die to cut the...

Happy First Birthday with Gemma

Today I’m sharing a sweet birthday card to celebrate a first birthday. I thought it would be fun to use the word ‘first’ instead of the number ‘1’ across my card. I die cut the letters using the Knightly LC Large Alpha die set. I cut them 3 times and added copic colours to the top layer, keeping the outline white and only one layer. On my card base, I adhered the a white frame, using the Gallery #7 die set. I then adhered the letters across the centre of the card. As this is a first birthday, I...

Birthday Fishes with Gemma

Today I’m sharing my own spin on a scene card, using the Ocean Floor Slimline scene die with the Sea Friends and Sea Life stamp sets. I love using white space on my cards, so I wanted to show how to create a scene card but still incorporate my love of white space. My top tip is to make sure that some elements bridge the gap between white space and scene. Having images or sentiments that break out from either side will help to create one cohesive design. I began by die cutting the Ocean Floor Slimline scene die...
