Pig Out with Gemma

Today I’m sharing a very CAS look at the new Pig Out stamp set from Hello Bluebird, which is part of the May 2021 release. There are many more wonderful critters and scene building images included in this set. As my niece loves both rainbows and pigs, I just had to create a rainbow puddle for the pig to jump in. I used the coordinating die for the puddle to cut a window in a white card panel. On my card base, I blended a rainbow of distress oxide inks. This is easy to achieve with just 4 colours...

Mushroom House with Gemma

Today I’m showcasing the brand new Mushroom House background stamp. This background is such fun and works really well with a host of different Hello Bluebird stamp sets. My card features the Garden Party stamp set, and I was inspired by a card I made last year which features this set and an evening sky. I stamped the Mushroom House background onto white card, then masked the house and ground so I could blend an evening sky with distress oxides. I used squeezed lemonade, dried marigold, worn lipstick, and chipped sapphire, flicking the panel with white acrylic paint to...

Easter Slimline with Gemma

Scene dies are very versatile and, with some minor additions, can work for any season. My card today features the Winter Walk Scene die, which I turned into a Spring Scene with a little help from the Pond Builder die set. I die cut the Winter Walk scene die twice from white card. I like to have two of the borders to give some depth to the scene. I also die cut parts of the scene again – the trees from woodgrain cardstock, the mountains from plaid patterned paper, and the ground pieces from green card. On my slimline...

Simply Squared with Gemma

My card today features one of the fun background stamps from Hello Bluebird, which are being re-released as clear stamps in early March. This release will include some brand new scenic background stamps too! I’m following one of my sketches for this card – I’ve used sketch 009. If you enjoy using sketches, you can find all mine here on my blog and on Pinterest. I chose one of my gel printed backgrounds, that I’d previously created using chipped sapphire, peacock feathers, and cracked pistachio distress oxide inks. Over this, I stamped the Simply Squared background using the same...

Chinese New Year 2021 with Gemma

Chinese New Year 2021 is the Year of the Ox. I always make a CNY card for my niece and nephew, and the Farmyard Little Bits are perfect for this year. I worked on my background first. I die cut the Gallery Frame #5, which is a slimline die, from some different card stock – white, embossed gold, and pearlescent red. I layered the gold scalloped outer frame over the white card frame, then adhered this onto my slimline card base. Next, I adhered the pearlescent red inner frame. On the three white card pieces, I adhered some patterned...
