Hi everyone! Leanne here. I know a lot of you are anxiously awaiting the arrival or your orders from the September kit release. Trust me when I say it’s all worth the wait! In the mean time, I can offer you some Halloween card inspiration featuring the sweet mice images from a stamp set included in the Halloween Kit. All stamps and dies used to make this card are included in the Halloween Kit.

This card is A6 size. I had some Doodlebug pattern paper that I’ve been wanting to use. I love all the bright colored stars with black. I trimmed this paper to be a bit smaller than my white card base and then used a die from the Basic Borders set to create the large scalloped edge. I adhered it flat to the card base.

Next I took a peachy pink panel of card stock and blended on some orange ink. I applied the orange ink heavier at the bottom and lighter going up until it fades to create the ombre’ effect. I then die cut the words trick or treat into the top half of this panel. I trimmed the ombre’ panel a bit shorter than the star print panel so the scallop edge would show and adhered it with foam tape.

I picked out three images from the Fright Mice stamp set to use on this card. I Copic colored them and cut them out with the companion dies. I adhered them with thin foam tape. I purposely left a small space under the word treat so I could add a sentiment strip. The “got candy” stamp is from the Halloween Word Strips stamp set. Lastly I added some black star confetti I had in my stash of halloween embellishments. If you don’t have stars, then any type of sequins would work or you could simply skip adding the extra embellishments.

Here are the Copic markers I used for coloring:

  • mice color: E40, E41, E31, E42
  • rosy cheeks, nose, tail: R00, R21
  • black hats: N2, N4, N6
  • purple shading on ghost balloon: V01, V12
  • green: YG12, YG13
  • orange: YR12, YR16
  • aqua blue: BG11, BG13
  • pink: RV52, RV55
  • yellow: Y32, Y26
