Hello friends this is Nicky back with you today on the Hello Bluebird Stamps blog and I’m sharing all the details for this new birthday shaker card  with you.  Please read on for all the details including  links to the products used and of course my Copic colour combinations!

Here are some links to what I’ve used to make this card:-

Balloon Buddies

Balloon Buddies Die

Gallery Frame #3 Die

I started the project by created the shaker and to do this I die cut sturdy white cardstock using the Gallery Frame #3 Die.  I repeated this 4 times.  I glued 3 sets together in a neat stack and I retained 6 negative ‘window opening’ cuts and I ink blended them using Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide Ink.  I took a white A2 panel of cardstock and I glued to it the Gallery cuts that were glued together then I recessed the ink blended negative cuts through each window opening and glued in place.  I glued this whole panel to the card base I had already prepared.

This left me with one extra die cut of the Gallery Frame.  I flipped it over and added acetate to the back using ScorPal tape.  I concocted a mix  of shaker filler from my  stash and sprinkled some in each window open then I sealed it in by sticking down the top panel, again using ScorPal tape.

I stamped and coloured the images I’d be using from Balloon Buddies.  Here are my Copic colours:-

Bunny – C5, C3, C1, C0, C00

Darker Green Balloon – BG32, BG11, G0000, W2

Lighter Green Balloon – BG11, G0000, W2

Pink Balloon – RV17, RV06, RV04, RV02, W2

Yellow Balloon – Y15, Y13, Y06, Y02, W2

Coral Balloon – R14, R22, R21, W2

Purple Balloon  – V25, BV11, BV00, W2

I die cut the images and applied them to the top of the shaker window using dimensional foam tape.

Just the finishing touches to go now.  I used a white gel pen  to highlight the balloons and the bunny’s rosy cheeks.  I know some of you have issues with white gel pens.  I can tell you that my favourite is the Sakura Gelly Roll 10.  The ink flows well and is opaque  and when it starts to not flow well it is time to get another.  The pen can look like it has ink in it but it has run dry at this point.

Last but not least I stamped HAPPY BIRTHDAY from the stamp set using Versamark Ink and then I heat embossed using ultra fine gold embossing powder.  This sentiment strip was applied with more foam tape and with that … this shaker was ready to be shaken!

Thanks for stopping by the blog today and I’ll be back on the 22nd with something new to share with you.  Have a lovely crafty day!
