Hey friends, it’s Christy here with a colorful birthday card featuring one of my favorite stamp sets, Bloomin Happy! I just love the joyful expressions on these sweet critters faces. I wanted to make it a birthday card, so I also pulled in a couple small accessory images from Party on the Farm, another personal favorite. I stamped the images in black ink and colored them with my Copic markers to match some patterned paper that I wanted to use. Then I trimmed them out with the matching dies.

For the focal panel, I cut down some Bristol Cardstock with the largest Nesting Half Circle dies and blended on some Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide Ink with a cloud stencil to create a sky. I also cut down a piece of green cardstock and used the Grassy Knoll to trim it in half. I glued these together, then cut down some yellow plaid patterned paper with the Basic Borders and added that to the straight side. Then I layered the other patterned paper and focal panel onto the card base.

To build my sentiment, I started by cutting the Knightly LC Large Alpha out of five colorful shades of cardstock. I cut out two of every letter in two different shades so I could swap the borders and give them some contrast. I glued these across the bottom of the card, slightly overlapping. The rest of the sentiment I white heat embossed onto black cardstock so that it would stand out against the dark navy background of the patterned paper. I trimmed that into a strip and adhered it below the word “happy.” I finished the card with a little sparkle, and that’s it!
