Today I have a CAS scene birthday card featuring the Cake Time stamp set.

I love to make clean and simple cards. My way of incorporating a small scene into my CAS style is to split the card up – white space with a sentiment on one side, and a scene on the other side. Some of the scene elements can break out into the white space to help create a cohesive design.

I stamped out images from the Cake Time stamp set, coloured them with copic markers and cut them out with the coordinating dies.

Next, I cut two panels of patterned paper for my floor and wall elements. I adhered them together, then used the Nesting Deckle A2 to add a decorative edge along the left hand side. I adhered this to the right hand side of a mini slimline card base.

On the white space at the left side of the card base, I stamped a sentiment from the Birthday Script stamp set.

I adhered most of the images around the card with liquid glue. Finally, I added the racoon and cake with foam tape.
