Hello Friends, it’s Marie! Thanks so much for joining me back on the Blog! For today’s card inspiration, I have created a sweet rainbow themed birthday card featuring the Word Buddies Woodland stamp set combined with the super fun Rainbow Sky Die.

I started off my card by cutting an A2 sized base panel from 110 lb. Neenah Solar White cardstock. I then cut out a scalloped frame from the same Neenah heavyweight cardstock using the Gallery Frame #2 Die. To save myself some time on ink blending my background, I cut an A2 sized panel of a beautiful purple to pink gradient cardstock paper. The paper I used is from the Sweet Summer Color Blends 6×6 paper from MFT. To give my background a bit of interest and texture, I splattered it with some watered down white acrylic paint. Then I adhered the background to the white base panel using my favorite double sided tape adhesive from Scrapbook.com . I adhered my frame to the background using the same double sided tape adhesive.

Next, I cut my clouds from Neenah Solar White cardstock and ink blended the bottom portion using Simon Says Stamp’s Pawsitively Saturated Ink in the color Seafoam. I cut out the rainbow from watercolor paper and used Faber- Castell Albrecht Durer Watercolor Pencils to color each strip in rainbow order.

I then stamped all the images onto watercolor paper using Antique Linen Distress ink for my no-line color technique. I colored each image using Faber- Castell Albrecht Durer Watercolor Pencils. The adorable cupcake image is from the Party on the Farm Stamp Set. I cut the images out using the Word Buddies Woodland Die as well as  the Party on the Farm Die for the cute cupcake.

I stamped out the “Happy Birthday” sentiment from the Typed Everyday Stamp Set onto some white cardstock and used the smallest die from the Nesting A7 Die to cut out the perfect sized tiny banner.

Finally, after playing with placement of all the images, I adhered them all down using double sided tape adhesive and foam strips for dimension. I added foam strips to my clouds that sit at the base of the rainbow and I added foam strips to all the bears. For some extra embellishments, I placed some plain white stars of varying sizes throughout my card and added Stickles glitter Glue to the tops of all the birthday hats and Presto! A simple yet super sweet birthday card perfect for Spring and Summer birthdays! Thank you for stopping by today! Until next time, Happy Crafting! – Marie
