Hi Bluebird Friends, Sara here! Happy new year everyone!
Today it’s my turn over the Hello Bluebird Blog and I have a love you card to show you, featuring the Merry Friends stamp set.
I just love those foxes and what’s better is that they could work for non-Christmas cards too. I wanted to feature them in a love themed card, so I looked into my stash in search of a sentiment and I found the one I used here, which is from Little Star Stamp set. And I had the idea for the card: I would have created a galaxy background with a moon.
I started by stamping the image I wanted with some Memento Black ink on some Neenah Solar White cardstock and I colored them with the copics listed below.
- Female fox: E17 – E15 – E13 – E11 – YR20
- Male fox: E18 – E17 – E15 – E13 – E11
- Pink jacket: RV69 – RV66 – V05 – R21
- Scarf: E84 – YR23 – YR21
- Yellow and violet jacket: E84 – YR23 – YR21 – V09 – V17- V15
I then die cut them with Merry Friends coordinating dies and started working on the background.
I took a piece of watercolor paper and I drew a semi-circle in the left bottom part, then I did some watercoloring with Distress Reinkers using the wet on wet technique. I used Spun Sugar, Warm Lipstick, Seedless Preserves, Dusty Concord and Black Soot. I created a galaxy effect, by dropping lines of color in the sky. When I was happy with the result, I let it aside to dry and I splattered some white acrilic paint to create the stars. For the moon, I only added just a bit of Lost Shadow ink, in order to create a bit of texture on the surface.
When everything was dry, I die cut it to 3,75″x5″ and I white heat embossed the sentiment on the right space. I matted it firstly with a sparkly silver cardstock and then with an A2 white panel. And here’s the finished result!
Thanks for stopping by, I really hope you will like the inspiration!
