Hello Crafty Friends! It’s Marie, and I’m back on the blog with a cute gingerbread themed Holiday card featuring the new Candy Cane Lane Die that I paired with the super adorable Sweet Christmas Stamp.
I started off by die cutting my base panel using the largest die in the Nesting Deckle A2 Die Set from 110 lb. Neenah Solar White cardstock paper. I then cut another panel with the same deckle die from pink gingham pattern paper and adhered it to my base panel. Taking a smaller sized deckle die, I cut another panel for my background from Bristol Smooth Cardstock. Starting from the center of my panel, I lightly inked my background with Cracked Pistachio and salvaged patina Distress Ink. I then splattered watered down acrylic paint to create a snowy background and adhered it to the pink gingham base panel.
Next, I cut my candy cane bases from pink cardstock paper and for the stripes I used Lawn Fawn’s Sparkle Cardstock in Pixie Dust. I glued the pieces together using Bearly Art Precision Craft Glue.
I die cut the bows and greenery using the Holly and Pine Die. I used Kuretake Gansai Tambi WaterColors to color my greenery and bows. I splattered the pine leaves with some watered down white acrylic paint.
Next, I stamped out all my gingerbread images onto watercolor paper using Antique Linen Distress Ink for my favorite no line coloring technique. i colored all my images with Faber Castell Watercolor Pencils. I then cut out my images using the corresponding Sweet Christmas Die. Then I stamped my sentiment onto Neenah Solar White cardstock.
Finally, after playing around with my images trying to find the right placement, I adhered the candy canes and gingerbread using skinny foam strips to bring them forward and give them dimension. I adhered the bows and greenery with liquid glue and double sided tape adhesive. Finally, as a finishing touch, I gave my holly berries and gumdrop some sparkly accents using Stickles Glitter Gel in Moon Dust and Presto! Another Holiday Card done and ready to personalize and mail! I hope you are all have fun crafting for the 2023 holiday season! Until next time, Happy Cardmaking!
