Hi Bluebird Friends, Sara here!
Today it’s my turn over the Hello Bluebird Blog and I obviously have a spooky card to show you, featuring some of the recent released items as well as some previous ones.
I couldn’t resist to create my last Halloween card of the year, featuring the recent released Sabrina Stamp set. I came up with my idea thanks to the Spooky Text sentiment, which was about “Jack-O-Lantern”: so I thought of some spooky pumpkins hang as ornaments and the cute witch holiding the jack-o-lantern too. I took the smaller Jack dies pumpkins and I die cut a bunch from some black sparkly cardstock (in which I added faces) and from some orange cardstock in order to layer behind. I then stamped the protagonist of the card on some Neenah Solar White cardstock and I colored her in monochromatic tones, to give the card an extra spooky look (I used the Neutral Greys, all of them). I only put an accent of orange in her pumpkin eyes.
I then fussy cut everything because I didn’t want the small white border and I used a black pen to colord the edges. I moved into the background: I started from a dark grey panel, I die cut it using the second largest Nesting Deckle A2 die, I placed all the hanging pumpkins here and there, I drew the hanging lines and I stamped some solid bats and some solid stard (which comes from Boo Crew) with dark grey and white inks.
I also stamped the sentiment in the bottom left part of the card and I added some shimmer onto the girl’s jack-o-lantern, to match the ones above. To complete the card, I matted it with a light grey A2 panel.
And here’s the finished result!
Thanks for stopping by, I really hope you will like the inspiration and I wish you an amazing Halloween night!
Hugs from Italy,
Sara
