Hi Bluebird Friends, Sara here!
Today it’s my turn over the Hello Bluebird Blog and I have a spooky card to show you, featuring some of the recent released items as well as some previous ones.
I had so much fun creating this spooky design, I really loved the two witches included in the Sabrina Stamp set. I went for a simple color palette: Grey and Orange, which is perfect for frightful Halloween Cards. I firstly decided to pair the standing one with the big BOO from the Boo to You Words Die, removing the “to you” with scissors. I stamped her, the cute cat and the bat on some Neenah Solar White cardstock and I colored everything with the Copics listed below.
- Sabrina’s skin: E43 – E81 – YG91 – E40 – YG61 (blush)
- Sabrina’s hair: E18 – E08 – YR18 – YR15
- Pumpkin: E08 – YR18 – YR68 – YR15
- Black combo: T10 – T8 – T7 – T6 – T5 – T3
- Orange combo: YR07 – YR15 – YR12
I also added a few dots with white gel pen on her dress and I die cut everything with Sabrina Coordinating Dies.
I then moved into the background: I stamped two strings of lights that come from the Halloween Party stamp and I turned them into a string of spooky eyes: I colored the iris with E08 – YR16 and Y35 and I added the pupils with a fineliner and a dot with white gel pen; I also added a few veins and I covered the eyes with Ranger Glossy Accents to give depth and resist the inking. I leave it drying for a night and then I took a dark grey ink and I blended it from the upper side of the card to bottom, using blending brushes. When I was happy with result, I die cut the panel using the largest Nesting Deckle A2 die.
The big BOO comes from the Boo to You Words die, I die cut it twice from white and from orange cardstock. I used orange and grey ink to create a soft ink blending on it and I glued them down to my panel.
To complete the design, I also white heat embossed the sentiment strip (it comes from Sabrina Stamp) on some black cardstock and I attached the three colored protagonists to my scene. I also matted everything with a slightly larger white cardstock. And here’s the finished result!
Thanks for stopping by, I really hope you will like the inspiration!
