Hello, this is Nicky with you today and I have a trio of Halloween themed gift tags to share with you which were made using ‘Spooky Text’ which is one of the new stamp sets from the September 29th release of Fall and Halloween products.   Read on for all the details.

Spooky Text is a sentiment heavy stamp sets that includes three adorable critter images plus three pumpkins.  The dies will cut the arms of the critters which means they can hold things or hang over the pumpkins as shown here.   To kick things off I used the main tag die and cut white cardstock three times and then this mini gingham cardstock three times, then I chose the oblong die from the Builder set and die cut an opening in each patterned piece.  I used Kitsch Flamingo Distress Oxide Ink and ink blended the white die cuts and splattered with white acrylic paint loosened with a little water.  I applied the pattern paper over the top of each with glue and added the finishing piece/hole reinforcer in black cardstock to the top.

 

 

I stamped the images and sentiment I was needing from Spooky Text and I coloured with the following Copic Marker colour combinations:-

 

Pumpkins – YR09, YR04, YR39, YR19, T7, T6

Bunny – E31, E42, E41, E40, W3

Kitten – T6, T5, T4

Squirrel – W5, W4, W2, W00

Blushes – RV55, RV63, RV52

 

Points were highlighted with a white gel pen then they were die cut using the coordinating dies and applied to each tag.

 

 

I popped the kitten tag in my Misti and directly stamped the longer sentiment which fits perfectly within the frame.  I then grabbed a scrap of black cardstock and three little elements (bat, boo and eek) from the new Ghostly Gift Tag Die and die cut and applied to the corner of each tag for a finishing flourish along with black stars created using the Starry Sky Die.  I dotted in some further interest to the background with a black pen and tied each with their black ribbon.

I hope you like my tags, I think they’re going to look so cute cinched to a bag of homemade Halloween cookies or a bag of candy.
