Hey there friends! I’m happy to be back on the blog today with a simple but sweet card design. This one features the adorable hugging squirrels from the Little Hugs stamp set.

I started this card with the wood grain panel. I stamped the Old Oak background with white pigment ink onto kraft card stock. I then gave it a little splatter with watered down dark brown ink. I die cut an oval right into the center of the wood grain panel and added the skinny white deckle edge frame. I used 2 of the Nesting Deckle A2 dies to create this skinny frame. I adhered the panel to an A2 sized card base which I had added already ink blended mint green onto for the background.

Next I added my Copic colored images. The squirrels and hearts are the from Little Hugs set. The tree branch images are from Picked for You. Lastly I stamped a greeting from the Little Hugs set. Below is list of the Copic colors I used to color the images:
- browns – (squirrels) E31, E33, E35 ; (branches) E71, E74
- pink hearts & flowers – RV00, RV10, RV04, RV09
- green leaves – YG11, YG17
- roses cheeks on squirrels R00, R20
This is so precious, Leanne! I really love your color palette and the way you framed everything. Another thing I appreciate is the restraint you use when adding accents with a white gel pen. It is often way overdone. I think you always get it just right 🙂
