Hello there! I’m sharing a card today which features a treehouse scene with some sweet bears from the new Bear Family stamp set.

I love these bears and they are just the right size to go with the Treehouse Scene die. Even though this treehouse set was intended for winter scenes, I wanted to use it for a summer scene. It can of course work for any season and I think would make a wonderful focal point for a fall scene too.

To make this treehouse suitable for a summer scene I simply added some green treetops. This die set does not come with treetops so I used some from the Summer Woods Scene die set.

I began the scene with an ink bended background. I Copic colored the bears, bees, and flowers. Copic colors used will be listed at the end of the post. After I had had all the pieces adhered down, I felt the background was a bit blah. To kick it up a notch, I used Copic markers to add shading around the outer edges, the treehouse, and underneath some of ground elements. I think this really helped give the scene more depth and interest.

Copics used for coloring:

  • bears – E41, E42, E43
  • pink flowers – RV55, RV17, R39
  • yellow flowers and bees – Y12, Y17
  • green foliage – YG11, YG13, YG17
