Hi friends! I am sharing a slimline with the cutest wild kitties! They look so content, don’t they?
To create this card I started with the background using the Safari Scene Die and one tree from the Safari Tree Die. Besides the tree trunks which I colored with Copics (listed below), all the rest of the pieces were ink blended with a mix of distress oxides and Concord and 9th (C9) inks:
Sky: Mermaid Lagoon
Yellow mountains: Antique Linen and Tea Dye
Green mountains: Evergreen Borough, Peacock Feathers
Tree tops: Sprout(C9), Evergreen Borough, Peacock Feathers
Grass: Wheat(C9)
After ink blending I lifted some spots using water droplets and added some splatter back in coordinating colors and a white gel pen to create some texture.
Next I stamped out the lions, a crown, some grass, and a rock from the Jungle King stamp set. Then I colored the images including the tree trunk dies with a mix of Copics(C) and Ohuhus:
Lion body: YR20, YR240, Y120, Y110
Lion mane: BR1, BR2, BR3
Pink ears: R21, R000(C)
Rock: CG5, CG050, CG030, CG020
Crown: YR33, Y1, Y3
Grass: Y1, Y040, Y121
Tree trunks: E59, E57, E23
I used the coordinating dies to cut out my colored images and added some foam tape to the back of the lions for dimension. I propped them up on the card where I wanted them and glued the grass down behind them.
For the sentiment I heat embossed it in white on black paper and trimmed it down to size before propping it up in the corner using foam tape.
For final touches, I added some white highlights to the lions as well and the card was finished! Thanks for stopping by and I hope you like my card!
