The Jungle King stamp set is a favourite of mine from the new release. I’ve teamed it with the new Safari Horizontal Scene die. Although this is a slimline die, I’ve used it in a way that works with my love of white space.

I began by stamping the images from the Jungle King stamp set, using a brown memento ink, the colouring them with copic markers (colours listed at the end of this post). I then die cut them out with the coordinating dies. I also coloured an additional tree, using the Safari Tree die set.

Next, I worked on the background. I die cut the Safari Horizontal Scene die from white card. I used distress oxides to blend on colour to each layer. For the sky, I used a piece of watercolour patterned paper. I also blended an extra piece of white card to create more ground.

I adhered the pieces to a thin piece of paper, then adhered that to the ground and sky pieces to create the full background.

The background looks lovely like this, but I wanted to cut it down to get a different look. I used one of the Hill and Dale dies to get a wavy edge. I then adhered the left hand side to a 5×7 card base.

I adhered the images to the card, using foam tape for the lions and the tree tops.

For the sentiment, I die cut letters using the Jane Small Alpha, adding colour with copic markers. I added two additional die cut layers behind each layer, before adding them on to the card.

The second part of the sentiment is from the Jungle King stamp set. I stamped it with the brown memento ink, then cut into a sentiment strip. I added a strip of card behind, which I’d coloured with the same copic markers as the letters above, to help it stand out.

I hope you liked my take on the Jungle King stamp set and the Safari Horizontal Scene die.
