Hello crafty friends! Today I’m sharing a floral themed birthday card featuring Flower Friends, one of my all time favorite Spring themed stamp sets from Hello Bluebird.  This set contains three lovely gal pals, but for today’s card, I’m featuring the super adorable deer holding her beautiful flower bouquet to create a sweet and simple composition.

I started off by stamping my images onto watercolor paper using Distress Ink In the color Antique Linen. I used Faber-Castell watercolor pencils to color all my images in my favorite no-line coloring technique. Some of the floral images are from the Big Hugs Woodland Stamp. I used the corresponding Flower Friends Dies, and Big Hugs Woodland Dies to cut out all the images.

Next, I die cut an A2 sized cardstock base panel from Neenah Solar white 110 lb. cardstock paper. I then adhered an A2 sized colored cardstock paper to the base panel using double sided tape adhesive. Then, using the Nesting Deckle A2 Die, I cut my background panel from dusty rose gingham pattern paper. To add some subtle background interest, I splattered my pattern paper with metallic gold watercolor. Next, taking two different sized dies from an A2 Nesting Die set, I created a skinny frame.  I lightly inked the edges of my skinny frame using Vintage Photo Distress Ink to create a vintage touch. I adhered my gold splattered gingham pattern paper to my colored cardbase, and then centered my skinny frame. I adhered all my colored images inside the frame using a combination of double sided foam tape and Bearly Art Precision Craft Glue.

I used the Typed Everyday Stamp to create my Happy Birthday Sentiment. Lastly, using the smallest die in the Nesting A7 Die, I cut out my sentiment in a perfect skinny banner.

That does it for this week’s card inspiration! A sweet yet simple way to wish your loved ones a Happy Birthday! Thank you so much for joining me today! Until next time, Happy Cardmaking!
