Hi Bluebird Friends, Sara here!

Today it’s my turn over the Hello Bluebird Blog and I have a cute birthday card to show you, featuring the Bee Happy stamp set.

Spring has finally started here in Italy (temperatures were a bit lower than usual during the past few weeks, but now Spring has come) and I couldn’t resist to create a card featuring those adorable bees. I did a sort of clean and simple design, which is really easy to reproduce if you want to take inspiration.

I firstly started stamping the three bees and the two bunches of flowers -which come from the Big Hugs Woodland and the Banner Buddies stamps- on a piece of my favorite copic coloring cardstock, Neenah Solar White. I used Memento black ink and then I colored everything with the Copics listed below.

  • Yellow combo: YR24 – Y35 – Y15 – Y13 – Y11
  • Black combo: T10 – T8  T7 – T6
  • Wings: BG72 – BG11
  • Flowers and leaves: E41 – E40 – YR24 – G46 – G24

I also die cut everything with coordinating dies and I let it aside while working on the background.

I used the solid hexagon stamp included in the Bee Happy stamp set to create a texture on the left of my panel: I used three different shades of yellow inks (light, medium and dark shades) to stamp it. As you can see, I used light and medium ones with just a touch of the darker shade around them. I really loved the result!

I then die cut the word BEE from the Knightley LC Large Alpha die from black cardstock (I die cut twice for a bit of depth) and I white heat embossed the “happy” and “day” (they come from the Party On the Farm stamp) on some yellow cardstock. I attached everything on the panel and I also added some black gems around the bees for an extra touch! And here’s the finished result!

Thanks for stopping by, I really hope you will like how it came out!

Hugs from Italy,

Sara
