Hey friends, it’s Christy here with a sweet scene using our new Spring Challenge as inspiration! This one stars one of the adorable piggies from Pig Out and his little duckling friend fromĀ Singing in the Rain. I wanted to make it a birthday card, so I also added in images from an oldie but a goodie, Pig Day. I colored all the images with Copic markers and trimmed them out with the matching dies.
All of the coloring was done to match our newest challenge over on Instagram, which you can enter using the hashtag #hellobluebirdspringchallenge. This challenge starts today and will run until March 31st. Check out the original post on the blog today for all the details. We would love to have you play along!
For the background of my card, I thought it would be fun to stamp out the Farmyard background stamp in an unexpected color. I chose purple, using Shaded Lilac Distress Oxide Ink. I think that gave the card an interesting look that really allows the images to shine, while still including lots of detail. I stamped a sentiment from Birthday Script in the top right corner, then trimmed down the panel and popped it up with foam tape, adding a little strip of patterned paper on the right, to give it a more playful feel and a pop of color. I finished with a little Stardust Stickles.
If you’d like to see how this card came together, you can watch the video tutorial by clicking the thumbnail below, or find it on my YouTube channel, Christy Gets Crafty. I really hope you enjoy it! And I also hope that you’ll be inspired to play along in our Spring challenge. We can’t wait to see what you create!
Crafty hugs,
Christy
