Hello everyone and happy 2023! I have begun making my Valentine’s Day cards but I wasn’t ready to put away the snowmen stamps quite yet. So for today’s card I’ve incorporated a snowman image from the Snowman Hugs stamp set. I think adding snowmen to Valentine cards is a great way to stretch those images beyond Christmas and besides, a lovable cute snowman is a perfect fit for a Valentine theme.

For this mini slimline card, I kept the scene fairly simple. I wanted the focus to be on the bold greeting and hedgehog hugging the snowman. Below is a list of all the Hello Bluebird stamps and dies used to complete this card:

I set the scene against a snowy backdrop. The color is a combination of Speckled Egg and Salvaged Patina Distress Oxide inks. I added white paint splatters for the snow effect. I used heart dies from my crafty stash to create a variety of different sized hearts to add behind the greeting and to scattered about. A Valentine’s card needs a few hearts right?

I Copic colored the images and will list which colors I used below. I decided on a classic pink and red color palette with the addition of pale blue. This is one of my go to color combinations when I want the card to have a sweet and whimsical vibe.

  • pinks – R00, R20, R21
  • reds – E04, R56, R39
