Hey friends, it’s Christy here with a scene taken out of my own life. One of my favorite Christmas pastimes is reading by the light of the Christmas tree. There’s just something about those twinkling lights that makes the story come alive and seem even more magical. So on this card, I wanted to capture that feeling, by combining stamps from Page Turner, Cozy Christmas Eve, and O Christmas Tree. I also wanted to go with a non-traditional color palette, so I did everything in pastels. I colored all the images with Copic markers and trimmed them out with the matching dies.

For the background, I took a piece of Bristol Smooth Surface Cardstock and blended on some Distress Oxide Inks, starting with Cracked Pistachio and then adding a tiny bit of Lucky Clover to the very edges. I left a glow in the center and let the ink fade off toward the floor. I stamped a sentiment from Cozy Christmas Eve at the top, then adhered the background to a green card base and the images to the card front. Then to finish everything off, I stamped a sentiment from Big Christmas Greetings on the inside, and added some sparkle and shine to the outside using Stardust Stickles.

If you’d like to see how this card came together, I’ve created a video tutorial for you! You can watch it by clicking on the thumbnail below, or you can find it as Day 19 of my Holiday Card Series on my YouTube channel, Christy Get Crafty. I really hope you enjoy it! This is my last post on the Hello Bluebird blog for the year, so I want to wish you all a very merry Christmas and a happy, crafty New Year! I hope you take some quiet moments to do something relaxing that you love this holiday season.

Big hugs,
Christy
