Hello friends! Tammy here with a holiday themed card, inspired by this month’s Challenge board. I created a grid style card, one of my favorite styles, using the adorable critters from the Merry Makers stamp set.

To begin, I stamped the images from Merry Makers, colored with Copic markers, and die cut using the Merry Makers Die.

Next, using the Gallery Frame #7 Die, I die cut the outer frame from heavy white cardstock. The square grid inlay frame was cut from red striped paper, reminiscent of a candy cane. I then cut a piece of Bristol smooth cardstock the size of the outer frame and ink blended the background with Peacock Feathers and Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide inks, first placing the candy cane striped grid over the paper and lightly marking the squares. This allowed me to be sure I was just inking the top of each square. Next, I splattered some white acrylic paint, thinned with water, onto the background to give it a snowy look. Once the background was dry, I added some snowy hills, die cut from white cardstock, using the Hill and Dale Die. I attached the snowy borders to the inked background at the bottom of the squares, again using the candy cane grid as a placement guide. Next, I attached the white frame to the background, then the candy cane striped square grid inside the white frame.

The critters were attached to the card using foam tape for dimension. Lastly, I stamped the sentiment from the Merry Little Christmas stamp set in red ink onto a white sentiment strip and attached it to the middle of the card using foam tape to complete my card.
Thanks so much for stopping by! I hope my card inspired you to create something for the Holiday Challenge over on Instagram. Be sure to #hellobluebirdholidaychallenge. I can’t wait to see what you all create!
Hugs,
Tammy
