Hello Crafty Friends! I am so happy to be back on the blog to share my latest Holiday card inspiration featuring the newly released Snowman Hugs stamp set! I fell head over heels for this stamp set when I first laid eye on it because images of snowmen and their critter friends is just so heartwarming! There are three main images in this set and for today’s card, I wanted to focus on the snowman with his friendly hedgehog.
I stamped out my main image with Antique Linen Distress ink onto watercolor paper. The water color pencils I used are the Albrecht Durer Watercolour Pencils from Faber-Castell. I then die cut my image using the Snowman Hugs dies.
I used the Nesting Deckle A2 Die to create my base panel. Using the largest of the dies, I cut my base out of sturdy 110 lb Neenah Solar White Cardstock paper, and I used a charming Christmas plaid pattern paper to adhere to my base. I really wanted the snowman and his little buddy to be my focal point so I created a gold frame using two of the smaller A2 Deckle Dies together running them through the die cutter. I love how my gold frame turned out with it’s gorgeous deckled edges. Since I loved the look of my pattern paper, I decided not to cover it up so instead I used translucent vellum which I cut using the same Nesting Deckle Die I used for the frame. Now my image won’t be lost in the busy background and can still stand out by muting the background just a bit. To add some texture to my background, I splattered it with watered down acrylic paint. I added white paint splatter to my vellum paper as well.
To dress up my frame, I die cut some pine and holly berries out of watercolor paper using the Pine Boughs Die. Then adhered them to the corners of my frame to create a cozy look. I stamped out my sentiment using the Merry Little Christmas Stamp on to craft paper. I cut out my sentiment using the smallest die in the Nesting A7 Die.
I really LOVE how this card came together! I can’t wait to give it my family this Holiday Season! Thank you so much for joining me today! Until next time, Happy Crafting and Card Making friends!
So adorable!
