A warm welcome to the Hello Bluebird blog today, this is Nicky with you and I’m sharing this new winter themed card, read on for all the details.

This card features the following stamps and dies:-

First Snow Stamps

First Snow Dies

Frosty Flakes Die

Oh What Fun Words Die

Ocean Overlay Die

I started the card by using the super useful Ocean Overlay Die to die cut a panel of 110lb white cover weight cardstock.   I ink blended the wavy cuts created and then glued the frame down on another panel and recessed the ink blended parts back into their space using glue.  This background panel measures 5 1/4 inches square and so I then matted it to 5 1/2 inches using red cardstock and then that was glued to a card base measuring 5 3/4 inches square.   This makes for such a pleasingly substantial card.

I stamped and coloured the images I was using from First Snow.   Here are the Copic colours used:-

Fox  – E47, E37, E99, E15, E13, C3, C1, C00

Penguin – T6, T5, T4, T3, T2, C5, C3, C1, C00, YR00

Bunny – E44, E43, E42, E41, E0000

Blushes – RV13, RV42, R20, R000

Red – $39, R29, R24, R05

I used a fine nib white gel pen to add highlights, polka dots and fluffiness to their scarves and gloves then die cut using the coordinating dies, adding them to the scene with dimensional foam tape.

I die cut the sentiment using the Oh What Fun dies.   This is a two part set.  I used white cardstock for the backing and red for the top layer and then glued in place.

Finally, I die cut some snowflakes using the beautiful Frosty Flakes Die and used a little glue in the centre of each to attach it to the card background and then once dry I gently teased up the tips of all the snowflakes to make them a little more dimensional.

Thanks for stopping by today and I’ll see you again very soon with a new project.  Happy crafting everyone!
