Hi Bluebird Friends, Sara here!
Today it’s my turn over the Hello Bluebird Blog and I have a “Back to School” card to show you. School has started today in Italy and this will be a special year for me. I will be teaching technology as a permanent teacher, and this signs a new chapter of my life. But let’s dive into the card!
I love how Hello Bluebird products can be mixed and matched to create new scenes, they all coordinate so well. The idea came to my mind with the deer from Fall Friends, she was perfect as the teacher! Then I found the bunny and bear from Besties and the sitting fox from the recent released Bonfire Buddies. To complete the school scene, I needed some books, and those came from the recent Page Turner. I stamped all of those images on a piece of Neenah Solar White cardstock and I colored with the following Copics:
- Fox: E18 – E17 – E08 – YR27 – YR12
- Bunny 1: E23 – E55 – E21 – E30
- Bear: E59 – E57 – E35 – E55
- Bunny 2: E44 – E43 – E42 – E41
- Deer: E57 – E35 – E55 – E31
- Red Combo: RV69 – RV19 – RV29 – RV25
- Pink Combo: E32 – E22 – E21 – E20
- Teal Combo: BG78 – BG09 – BG07 – BG57
- Green Combo: YG25 – YG17 – YG13 – YG01
- Yellow Combo: Y38 – Y35 – Y32 – Y11
I then die cut everything with coordinating dies and I moved into the “blackboard”. I searched into my sentiments, I wanted something like “welcome back”, but then I found the Typed Everyday with the “welcome” and the “good luck”, that were perfect for my idea. I cut a piece of black cardstock that measures 3,5″x2,25″ and I white heat embossed the two little scripts. I then cut the 4 letters from the Jane Small Alpha with four different colors that coordinate with my coloring. I also used a White Pigment Ink to get the blackboard “dirty”. I really loved that chalky look! I also matted the blackboard with a brown cardstock to create the frame.
I took an A2 piece of white cardstock and I stamped the Woven Background with a light brown ink. It is a really light touch, but I think it gives a cool look. I started assembling my scene, adding the blackboard on the upper left part and then all the critter students and the lovely teacher. I here realized there was a bit of “empty” space at the right side of the teacher. I stamped the speech bubble from the same Fall Friends and I searched for a “Hi!” sentiment in my stash. I found it in the Easter Egg Hunt stamp, I stamped it with a teal ink.
To comlplete my card, I matted the whole scene with a slightly larger (4,5″x5,75″) kraft cardstock. And here’s a finished look of the card!
Thanks for stopping by, I really hope you will like my inspiration! See you at the end of the month!
Hugs from Italy,
Sara
