Hey friends, it’s Christy here to talk about my card for our new Fall Challenge! If you missed the announcement post with all the details about how to enter, you can find it here. One of my favorite things to do with my stamps and dies is to find ways to use them that might be a little unexpected. It just unlocks so many more creative possibilities! For example, take this little sleeping fawn from Sweet Dreams. It’s meant to be a baby themed set, but by combining it with autumnal images from other stamp sets, I was able to turn him into the focal point for a lovely Fall card.

The other images I pulled together were from Fall Banner Buddies, Fall Buddies, and Leaf Play. I colored them all with Copic markers, choosing combos pulled directly from our new Fall Challenge, with a few neutral browns mixed in. I also created a background panel blending Distress Oxide Inks onto Bristol Cardstock in that same palette. I used Speckled Egg, Stormy Skies, Crackling Campfire, Scattered Straw, and Shabby Shutters. I die cut that panel plus a focal panel of Kraft Cardstock using our Nesting Deckle A2 dies, and splattered them both with copper colored metallic watercolors.

To assemble this card, I adhered the background piece to a Kraft card base with liquid glue. Then I stamped a sentiment from Banner Blessings at the bottom of the focal panel and popped it up with foam tape. I glued the images next, creating a little bed of leaves for my darling deer to sleep on, and added harvest gifts surrounding him, brought by his sweet friends. I finished up with a little Platinum Stickles for some extra sparkle and shine. And of course, you can watch me put the whole card together, start to finish, by clicking the video thumbnail below, or find it on my YouTube channel, Christy Gets Crafty.

Thank you so much for stopping by! I hope maybe I’ve inspired you to play along in our latest challenge. We can’t wait to see what you come up with!

Crafty hugs,

Christy
