Hello friends! It’s Christy here with a card using our adorable new Life is but a Dream stamp set. I just love these adventurous cuties so much! They make such fabulous lake or river scenes, perfect for masculine cards for the guys in our lives. I colored all the images with Copic markers, giving the canoe and oars a fun and easy block pattern. Then I trimmed the images out with theirĀ coordinating dies.
Next I wanted to challenge myself to use theĀ North Fork Slimline Scene on a standard A2 size card. I love that this die is so versatile that it’s really easy to pick and choose the elements you want to use in an unexpected way. I die cut the pieces from Bristol Smooth Surface Cardstock and blended on Distress Oxide Inks, using Mowed Lawn on the river banks, Pine Needles for the pine trees, and Gathered Twigs for the skinny trees. I also created a background panel using Squeezed Lemonade, Speckled Egg, and Faded Jeans. I die cut a frame from Big Mountain Scene out of Kraft Cardstock to give the card a bit of a border and stamped a sentiment on another strip of Kraft Cardstock in dark brown ink. I added just a touch of Stickles to my trout to give them sparkly fish scales!
If you’d like to see how this whole card came together, start to finish, including the coloring, I have a video tutorial for you. You can either click on the thumbnail below, or find it on my YouTube channel, Christy Gets Crafty. It’s a little tricky to explain in words how to convert a slimline scene die into a different size card front, so if there is any confusion, the video will definitely clear that up! It really is super easy to do and will give you so much more milage out of your slimline scene dies! I really hope you enjoy it.
Thanks so much for hanging out with me today!
Big crafty hugs,
Christy
