Today I’m sharing a card with some lovely products from the August release, which went live in the store yesterday! I hope you all managed to get your orders in.
I made this card for my niece. She loves reading and always has her head in a book, so the Page Turner stamp set is perfect for her birthday card.
To begin, I stamped out images from the Page Turner stamp set, colouring the images with copic markers and die cutting with the coordinating dies. I’ve listed the copic colours at the end of the post.
I also stamped some extra images from the Cake Time stamp set, to add some fun birthday elements to the scene. The balloon, banner, cake and present are all from the Cake Time stamp set.
On a panel of card, I stamped sentiments from the Oh Happy Day stamp set, using Versafine onyx black ink and heat embossing with WOW Neutral Ultra Shimmer embossing powder. When heat embossing, I prefer to work on a separate panel and adhere to my card base, to avoid any warping of the main card.
I die cut the ‘9’ from the By The Numbers die set, layering two white die cuts together for dimension and adding the purple sparkle card die cut on top.
To create the scene, I cut panels of patterned paper for the wallpaper and floor, adding a strip of woodgrain paper between them. On each piece, I used a die from the Nesting Deckle A2 die set to add the deckle detail along the right hand side. I then adhered these to my card, followed by my die cut images. Some are layered with extra die cuts behind, to add dimension to the scene.
I hope she’s careful with that cake, or it’ll end up on the floor!

This is adorable!! I had to make some really hard choices in ordering for this release. I stumbled on the fact that there even WAS a release occurring. I thought “It’s been a while since I’ve seen anything new from Hello Bluebird and visited the site. Imagine my surprise to see that the same day I thought of it and actually got on the site there WAS a release that SAME day!! I loved several of the sets and ordered enough to cancel the shipping charge, but I had to put about 5 things back out of the cart in order to be able to pay my other bills LOL.
I hope I’m registered now enough places that I won’t miss the previews next time.
