Happy July friends! This month is full of celebrations for my family. We have several birthdays including mine! The 4th of July holiday is also coming up in just a few days. I’ve taken inspiration from this patriotic holiday to create some fun red, white, and blue birthday cards.
For this first one I’ve used lighter tones of red and blue which I think gives it a more whimsical vibe.

This card design is an easy one to create with the Rainbow Square Die. I’ve used three bands of the rainbow and the scalloped frame. I stamped the background with Country Gingham. Using the Star Brights Die I made some layered stars for embellishments. The top star layer is cut from glitter card stock. It’s hard to see in the photos, but the glitter gives the card a nice bit of sparkle.

For the second card, I’ve done the same basic design but used more traditional patriotic colors. The animals with balloons are from the Carried Away stamp set. They are the perfect addition for the fun rainbow and gingham back drop.

I’ve added a simple birthday greeting to finish off my cards. I’ve stamped and white heat embossed “have a happy” onto a small card stock strip. The die cut word “birthday” is three layers thick. With delicate scripty die cut words, I always like to adhere two or three together. It helps to make them stand out more.
