Hello friends! This is Nicky with you today and I have a new card for Hello Bluebird featuring Pig Day which was the first stamp set I ever bought myself from HB and one which firmly remains one of my all time favourites that I revisit time after time.
To create my card I first made a slimline panel of white cardstock and then die cut a slightly smaller panel and I masked a line and ink blended above it using Speckled Egg Distress Oxide Ink. I carefully removed the mask.
I used the Jane Small Alpha Die to create the word OINK! To have it be so dimensional I used sticky foam sheets and peeled off one side of the protective paper and stuck white cardstock to it then die cut the letters and then I adhered them down in alignment with one another. Underneath I stamped the ‘happy birthday’ sentiment from Pig Day.
I stamped the images from Pig Day with Memento Ink in Rich Cocoa and I coloured them with Copic markers. Here’s what I used:-
Piglets – R20, R11, R01, R000, W3, W2, W0
Birds – BG13, G00, G000
Oranges – YR07, YR14
Pinks – RV21, RV13
Images were all die cut using the coordinating dies and then arranged and adhered either directly with glue or with foam tape to build some lovely dimension.
I highlighted a few points with a white gel pen and then dotted some interest into the background taking the dots from around the piglets over to the sentiment and other mini group with the bird which ties it all together taking the eye around the card.
I backed the decorative panel with white craft foam and applied it to the slimline panel and then everything was mounted to the card base and with that I was done!
Warm thanks for stopping by the Hello Bluebird blog today and if you have any comments or questions please don’t hesitate to leave a comment and I’ll be happy to respond.
Nicky
