Hello Bluebird has a wonderful selection of Alpha die sets so I thought it would be fun to create a typographic style birthday card to showcase them together.

I began by die cutting white card letters for ‘Happy Birthday’ from each of the following alpha sets:
I layered two of the letter die cuts for dimension, then put them aside to work on my background.
I cut a card base to 5.25” square, then adhered a piece of patterned paper. I then added a white card frame from the Gallery Frame #7 die.

With my background ready, I played with the layout of the letters to create my sentiment with a mix of alphas. The Charlie Large Outline and Knightley Large alpha sets are very versatile as you get both the letter and the outline. These can be used on their own or together for different looks.
Once I was happy with the layout of the white die cut letters, I adhered these onto my card base. I could then die cut a top layer from coloured card stock, using just the letters needed from each alpha set.
To finish, and fill some spaces in between the letters, I added some die cut gold stars, using a die from the Gallery #1 Frame.
