Hello everyone this is Nicky with you today, thank you for coming by the Hello Bluebird Blog where I’m sharing a new slimline card featuring one of the adorable new stamp sets from the recent May 6th release.   This is Flying High.   Read on for all the details.

To create this card I first grabbed a slimline panel of smooth white cardstock, the same that I use for Copic colouring and that smooth surface make ink blending a breeze!  I used a cloud stencil in my stash and started from the bottom and worked upward ink blending using Distress Oxide Ink in Speckled Egg.   After repeating this a few times I switched to Spun Sugar and then to Squeezed Lemonade to make it look like they are floating above the clouds and the sun is rising (or setting … take your pick)!   Further up I transferred back to the Speckled Egg colour and worked it all the way to the top.

I set the panel to one side to fully dry and whilst that was happening I stamped my images from Flying High on to more of the cardstock using Memento Ink in Rich Cocoa.  I coloured the images using Copic markers, highlighted a few areas with a white gel pen and then used the coordinating dies to die cut the images.

The panel was now dry and so I used my Embossing Buddy to remove any static etc and then placed it in my Misti.   Using Versamark Ink I stamped the sentiment from Happy Wishes and then heat embossed with white embossing powder.  I placed it back into my Misti two more times and repeated this process for a lovely raised embossing which works very well when sentiments are on the larger side such as this one.

I attached the decorative panel to my sturdy white cardstock base and then backed my stamped images with dimensional foam tape and applied them to the scene.

Last but not least, I found some sea foam coloured 4 point stars in my embellishment stash and using the tiniest amount of glue I adhered them to the scene.  Card complete!

Again thank you for stopping by today, I’ll be back here soon and meanwhile I wish you some happy crafty time!
