Hello everyone! Leanne here today.  This has been an exciting week hasn’t it?! I hope you’ve enjoyed seeing all the beautiful May Release card samples from the design team and guests.  I have more card samples to show you today.  I think the new Word Buddies stamp sets are so fun! There are so many ways to use those little critter images.  Both of my cards today feature the Woodland Word Buddies.

This first sample is a shorter version of a slimline card (mini slimline). It measures 3.5″ tall by 6.25″ wide.  I have used the Woven Background stamp to create a delicate plaid backdrop for my bold greeting and little foxes.  The die cut greeting was created with two different dies.  The word “love” is from Gallery Frame #6.  The letters to spell “you” are from Make Me Smile Words. To get that ombre’ look, I simply gave them a light dusting of Worn Lipstick Distress Ink on the bottom half of each letter.

I have Copic colored my foxes with E11, E13, E15, E17, W0, W1, W3, R00, R21.  Those are my tried and true Copics for perfect red foxes every time.

For this next card, I have again used some of the Woodland Word Buddies. However instead of using them to accent a word, I have just incorporated them into the card design to fill in little spaces.  That is what makes these images so useful and fun.  No matter wether they are peeking out from behind a word or other design element, they add so much cuteness!

This card is standard A2 size.  I used the divided windows from Gallery Frame #6 as a starting point.  I backed the windows with a panel of light blue card stock.  I knew I wanted to add a rainbow in the center window.  I then played around with adding clouds as filler.  The clouds are from the new Partly Cloudy die.  I added the die cut “hello” and stamped an additional sentiment right onto the clouds.  Then I placed the little critters where they looked best to complete the design.

This card is a really good example of giving myself the freedom to play around with each design element before committing to it’s final placement.  The smaller size of the images in the Word Buddies Woodland and Jungle sets certainly enable more creative freedom.  I can not recommend them enough especially if you are a fan of Hello Bluebird’s cute little critters.
