Chinese New Year 2021 is the Year of the Ox. I always make a CNY card for my niece and nephew, and the Farmyard Little Bits are perfect for this year.

I worked on my background first. I die cut the Gallery Frame #5, which is a slimline die, from some different card stock – white, embossed gold, and pearlescent red.
I layered the gold scalloped outer frame over the white card frame, then adhered this onto my slimline card base. Next, I adhered the pearlescent red inner frame.

On the three white card pieces, I adhered some patterned paper I created with my gel press and distress inks. The colours I used are Tumbled Glass, Weathered Wood and Chipped Sapphire. These colours work well together for a textured evening sky.
Using a die from the Hill & Dale set, I cut some embossed green card. I then adhered this to each of the three panels for grass. Before adhering the panels to the card, I heat embossed a sentiment from the North Star stamp set with a metallic gold embossing powder on the centre panel.

I stamped and copic coloured images from the Farmyard Little Bits stamp set, then die cut them with the coordinating dies. I arranged them on my card, adding dimension with blank die cuts behind the cows. I also added a speech bubble, using a die from the Photo Stack die set, with a sentiment white heat embossed on black card.
I finished the card by adding the die cut numbers for the year, above the heat embossed sentiment. I die cut these with the Charlie Numbers die set, layering several die cuts together for dimension and using the embossed gold card for the top layer.

Have a great day,
Gemma
