Hello everyone! Leanne here and I’m happy to be sharing a fun ornament project. I have taken mini embroidery hoops and turned them into cute tree ornaments featuring some adorable critters from the new Polar Friends stamp set.

I have used 3 inch embroidery hoops which can be found at any craft store or on Amazon. All the Hello Bluebird stamp and dies that I used are listed below.

First I backed the hoops with a circle cut from heavy card stock. I colored the circle backers with Speckled Egg Oxide ink and then generously splattered them with white painted. Next I die cut the snow drifts. I adhered one on the inside of the hoop and one on the outside. I then added a Copic colored penguin and polar bear to each hoop.

To embellish the top of each hoop, I adhered some pine sprigs with liquid glue. I used hot glue to adhere a hanger and bow to the center of the pine embellishment. I glued the die cut words above each little scene. The words are adhered to the pine in just a couple places. It’s enough to keep them secure and give the illusion that they are floating above the scene.

You could stop with just the critters, pine, and words, but I decided to embellish these ornaments even further. I added some die cut snow flakes topped with a sequin. I also applied a generous amount Nuvo Fresh Snowfall Glitter Accents in several spots around the frame and onto the pine boughs. Lastly I tied on little sentiment tags to each ornament.

I hope these ornaments inspire you to try your own. Many of Hello Bluebird’s Christmas stamp sets would work for this project. There’s so many different mini scenes you could create for these fun 3 inch hoops. Thanks for stopping by! Happy crafting!
