Field Mice and Strawberry Jam with Suzy Plantamura

When these sets were first introduced I thought how well they would go together, so for this card, I used Field Mice and Strawberry Jam.  I also used the Simply Squared Background Stamp. I made the background with Distress Oxide Inks by applying ink first and then stamping the Simply Squared Background Stamp in a darker color so it showed up over the lighter inks. I then used two different frame dies overlapping them including Gallery Frame #2 Die and Gallery Frame #4 Die.  I stamped the sentiment from the Strawberry Jam stamp set with black ink on a stitched...

Just sitting here with Anja

Happy Monday! Anja here today with a little Spring scene in soft colors. On my CAS (Clean And Simple) card, I combined the adorable Field Mice Stamps (mouse, dandelion, flower and grass) with the Strawberry Jam Stamps (caterpillar and flower trio). The butterfly is included in the Springtime set. For the background, I did some masked ink blending with Distress Oxide Inks. Inside the negative space of the circle mask, I blended together Worn Lipstick, Dried Marigold, Bundled Sage and Evergreen Bough. Did you know you can stamp with Distress Oxides, too? I did the grass images and sentiment...

Stretch Your Supplies With Marine

Hi there, Marine here with a cute window scene. A few days ago, I shared this card inspired by Canadian landscapes, so today we’re going to zoom into this scene and get a close up at the cabin! (this card was also inspired by a card Keiko made last year) I started by cutting a frame out white woodgrain cardstock using the Gallery Frame #3. I only kept the middle part that I trimmed to get a 2 x 2 square window, and colored it using vintage photo and ground espresso distress inks. To create the wood planks, I...

Springtime and Spring Gatherings with Nicky

Hello this is Nicky with you today, welcome to the Hello Bluebird blog!  I have an Easter card to hopefully inspire you with and for this project I’ve combined images from Spring Gatherings and Springtime – two stamp sets that work beautifully together. The first step was to create the pastel plaid background panel which I did using a stencil kit in my stash.   I brushed on Distress Inks using Clarity Stencil Brushes for a super soft look with no hard edges.  I applied this panel to a white cardstock base. I die cut the Gallery Frame #2 Die and used...

Lucky Friend with Tammy

Hi Bluebird friends! With St. Patrick’s Day quickly approaching, I thought it would be fun to create a themed card, featuring four leaf clovers, a “Leprechaun” mouse (starring Field Mice), and a bold Kelly green title. To create my card, I began by ink blending a stitched rectangle with Distress Oxide Inks in Scattered Straw, Twisted Citron, and Mowed Lawn. I splattered a bit of clean water, and then thinned out Mowed Lawn ink with a paintbrush on the background to create some interest. Next, using the Gallery Frame #3 Die, I cut the frame three times from white...
