Hi everyone, Anja here today with a floral birthday card. I’m looking forward to spring – so I picked some bright and happy colors for my emboss resist background.

I stamped the In the Meadow Background in VersaMark ink on a piece of Distress Watercolor Cardstock and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. I wet the surface and sprinkled on some Nuvo Shimmer Powders (Solar Flare, Atlantis Burst and Blue Blitz). I heavily spritzed the background with water to move the pigments around. In between the layers I dried it with my heat gun. I repeated the process until I was happy with the result. I let it dry completely, cut it down to size and adhered it to a turquoise card base.

Next, I stamped one of the cuties and a flower from the Fairy Garden set and colored them with Copics. I used the coordinating dies to cut the images out. To add some sparkle to the fairy wings, I applied a thin layer of Dragon Scales Nuvo Dream Drops (diluted with water).

For the sentiment, I cut the Happy Birthday Words Die from yellow and white cardstock. I stacked three layers of die-cuts on top of each other to give it dimension. To finish off my card, I adhered some matching crystals in several sizes.

Thank you so much for stopping by! Wishing you a wonderful day!
Anja
