Hi everyone, this is Nicky back with you today and I’ve got a fresh new card featuring the popular Garden Friends stamp set.

To create this card I first made the background by ink blending Distress Inks in Tumbled Glass and Iced Spruce, then splashing it with Tumbled Glass, Wilted Violet and my Kuretake Starry Watercolors – I used the iridescent white shade – so pretty!   This panel was attached to a 110lb white cardstock base and set to one side.

Using the Gallery Frame #4 die I cut the frame from 110lb white cardstock, I backed it with a layer of foam tape and applied it to the background.   I then die cut a scrap of cardstock using the Grassy Knoll die and and ink blended it with Wilted Violet, splashed it with some water and quickly blotted up the droplets.  This portion of grass was tucked into and slightly behind the frame and adhered with foam tape on the reverse.

On Copic friendly cardstock I stamped all of my Garden Friends images using Memento Ink in Rich Cocoa.  I used my Copic markers to colour all images and then they were die cut and backed with either a single or double layer of foam tape and applied to the scene, building some lovely depth.

For the finishing touches the bird’s cheek was highlighted with a white gel pen.   The sentiment was stamped on a strip of cardstock and applied with yet more foam tape.  I added a little silvery gel pen accent to the insect’s wings and finally to make it look ‘gardeny’ I added some dewdrop style ‘glass’ droplet embellishments using Ranger Multi Medium Matte glue so that it dries perfectly clear.

I hope you like my little fantasy garden scene – don’t be afraid to get creative and switch up your colours from time to time, the results might surprise you!

Happy crafting, Nicky x
