Hello everyone! Love is in the air today here on the Hello Bluebird blog. I’ve created a Valentine’s Day scene using the fun airplane image from Maverick with a little paper piecing magic.

This card is A2 size and I started by stenciling pink clouds over the entire card front. I then splattered it up with thinned pink paint. The greeting is part stamped and part die cut.

I stamped the first part of the greeting (a stamp from the Maverick set) directly onto the background. I used the Oliver Alpha dies along with a heart die to complete it. I Copic colored the images from Maverick except the body of the plane.

I found some heart patterned paper that was a good fit scale wise for the airplane’s size. I stamped the plane image with black ink onto the patterned paper and then fussy cut out just the part I needed. By fussy cutting right on the line, this creates a seamless look when the pattern paper part is adhered to the plane image. I then added the images into the scene along with some tiny clay hearts to complete the card.
