Happy Monday, friends!

Today, I have a fun Jungle themed Valentine, using one of my favorite Hello Bluebird sets, Jungle Littles!

I wanted to make this card a bit larger to fit all those gorgeous leaves and darling critters, so I decided on an A6 card (measuring 4 1/2 X 6 1/4″). I began by cutting a piece of Bristol smooth cardstock to 4 !/4 X 6″, and ink blended the background using Distress Oxides in Milled Lavender, Seedless Preserves, and a little Black Soot to darken the edges. Then, using a paintbrush, I splattered some water and then some thinned out Seedless Preserves DO onto my ink blended panel and set aside to dry.

Next, I cut all of my leaves with the Tropical Foliage Die from Bristol smooth cardstock. I used a variety of green Distress Oxide ink pads (Crushed Olive, Mowed Lawn, Cracked Pistachio, Twisted Citron, and Lucky Clover), and just started inking away. No real method here, I just played around with ink combos until I liked the result, LOL! I set the leaves aside to dry while I cut my “WILD” sentiment. Using the Charlie Alpha Die, I cut out the word WILD twice, once in black and then in white. I layered the white letters on top of the black, just slightly offset, so the black peeks out the side.

Next, I stamped all the cute jungle critters from the Jungle Littles Stamp set with black Memento ink and colored with Copic markers. I added some white detailing with a white gel pen before cutting my images with the coordinating Jungle Littles Dies.

Now, it’s time to assemble the card! I began by attaching the inked background to my card base. Then, I arranged the tropical leaves around the edges, and glued down using a fine tip glue pen. I trimmed off the excess leaves hanging over the card edge for a clean finish. Next, I arranged the jungle animals to my liking, and attached with tape runner. I used foam tape for the vine and monkey; for dimension, and so he can hold the “D”. The remaining letters were then attached, also using foam tape.

Finally, to finish off my card, I stamped the sentiment onto a black cardstock strip and embossed with white embossing powder. I tucked the sentiment just slightly under the “D”, and attached to card.

And there you have it! A fun, jungle- themed card that can be used for your Valentine, or even for your favorite kiddo!

Thanks for stopping by…have a great day!

XO,

Tammy
