Hello friends and Happy New Year to all of you! Today I have moved away from winter themed cards and I made a spring card to share with you. I have had this stamp set for a while and hadn’t had a chance to use it, so today is the day! It is called McGregor’s Garden. I love that ALL my Hello Bluebird stamps are so cute and still so useful no matter how long I have had them. Here is an image of the full card:
I made this card using the Skating Pond Scene Die for the background. I die-cut it from white cardstock and then glued all of the pieces down to a white card base. I colored it in with colored pencils. I usually use Copics or watercolors on my backgrounds because they are much faster, but I thought the pencil marks would look good on the trees and grass. It definitely gives it more dimension. I love that the scene dies can be used for completely different purposes than they were meant for. This is suppose to be ice in the middle and for my card, it is a garden bed!
I stamped all of the images from the set on white cardstock with a light color of ink and then colored them in with colored pencils. I layered them over the background which was the fun part. I always love creating little scenes with the Hello Bluebird stamps because they include so many little detail stamps! It was fun coloring turnips and beets, but I might have had to look up images to make sure I did it right haha! I added a stitched banner die for the sentiment stamping it with brown ink. I layered it on the top of the card.
I hope you enjoyed this little step into Spring today, but keep on enjoying the beautiful winter and this happy new year! Thanks for visiting today! Suzy
