Hello and a happy new year to you!

For my post today, I decided to make a masculine birthday card as I never seem to have enough of these on hand. I lean towards more typographic cards for masculine birthdays. I think you can’t go wrong with big bold sentiments and graphic designs.
I began with the background. I chose an ombré of blue card, using the Basic Borders die set to cut strips with chevron edges. I secured these together at the back with washi tape.

To add interest, I used the other chevron die from the Basic Borders die set to cut thin chevrons from the same cardstock. I adhered contrasting colours onto the wider chevrons.
I used my trimmer to get clean edges on my background, then adhered it on a white card base.

For my sentiment, I used the Happy Birthday die set to cut the word ‘Happy’ three times from a strip of white card.
I adhered this strip onto my card, so the chevron design would show through the letters.
I finished by die cutting the birthday word from some more blue card, layering three die cuts together for dimension and adhering to my card.

Have a lovely day,
Gemma
