Christmas is coming, the geese are getting fat
Please put a penny in the old man’s hat
If you haven’t got a penny, a ha’penny will do
If you haven’t got a ha’penny, then God bless you!

I’m delighted to be with all our Hello Bluebird friends on Thanksgiving day.   I hope you’re spending a wonderful day surrounded by family and friends, laughter and stories re-told that warm your hearts with memories of old.

We have a house full which makes us happy, and we’re blessed to be able to share.   Today, I’m honored to begin the Christmas season on the Hello Bluebird Blog by sharing a card featuring both new and old sets.  The October release really struck a cord with the set, Merry MiceTreehouse Scene Die and Winter Woods Overlay Die.   Carols and poems stirred visions of sugar plums and Charles Dickens in our heads.  And so, in a twinkling I sprang from my chair “watercolors” for this merry affair!   I sat about creating a vision in my head — over the river and through the woods, to grandmother’s house we go!  Mrs. Rabbit from Storybook Friends and her friend, little squirrel from, Quiet Christmas, are dressed for a Christmas party at the whimsical Treehouse of Merry Mice!   Magical fairy dust and storybook characters intertwined with new and old make magic this Christmas season at Hello Bluebird Stamps.

How did I create this card?

I began by die cutting the Winter Woods Overlay and Treehouse Scene die as-well-as the Treehouse Holiday Add-On’s and set them aside.  I stamped out my characters on hot press watercolor paper and used  Schmincke pan watercolors to paint them.  The Winter Woods Overlay, Treehouse Scene, and winter background sky are all blended with Distress Oxide Inks.  Additional elements such as the stepping stones, wreath, christmas lights, and presents are from the die set, Treehouse Holiday Add-On’s and the stamp set, Quiet Christmas.   Stickles Stardust and Tonic Nuvo drops finish the scene.

Thank you for joining me today I hope you’ve enjoyed the card.   And may you be blessed this Thanksgiving day and always.

Sincerely,

Susie ~
