I was so excited to see the Treehouse Scene die in the latest release from Hello Bluebird. This is definitely an all year round scene die and will work with many of the Hello Bluebird stamp sets.

I teamed this scene die with the Fairy Garden stamp set to make a winter birthday card for my niece.

I first die cut the Treehouse Scene die from white card. The die cuts a frame, the tree and two ground pieces. I then ran the die through the machine again, this time with some brown woodgrain effect card to cut just the tree. I added brown distress oxide ink to the edges of the tree, to add some depth.

On my card base, I added a blend of distress oxide inks for a winter sky. I used shaded lilac, spun sugar, antique linen and tumbled glass. I flicked the ink with water to get droplets, which adds to the look of a wintry sky.

Before adding all the Treehouse Scene pieces to my card, I added some light blue copic marker to the tops of the ground pieces, then some WOW Embossing ‘A Girl’s Best Friend’ Sparkles glitter.

Some gold glitter card behind the door and window of the tree, along with glitter steps, shutters, frames and bow, adds even more sparkle. I also used the Treehouse Holiday Add-on die set to add fairy lights to the tree.

I used my copic markers to colour images from Fairy Garden, Merry Mice and O Christmas Tree, adding them to my scene with foam tape and liquid glue.

I finished with a stamped sentiment from the Sparkles Script stamp set.

Thanks for joining me today,
Gemma
