Hello everyone! I have some tips to share with you today on how to add details to die cut elements for your cards.

The card I’m sharing today features lots of die cut elements including Warm Wishes Words and the snowman from Winter Woods Overlay.

This card is A2 size. I started by preparing the card front with a light blend of Tattered Rose and Candied Apple Distress Oxide Inks.  I gradually blended lighter towards the center to create a spotlight effect.  I also used the same Distress Oxide Ink blend for the die cut Warm Wishes.  I applied the ink darker at the bottom and lighter up top for an ombre’ look.  To give it a sparkly finish, I added a thin coat of Moonstone Glimmer Paste right overtop. Adding the Glimmer Paste to any die cut is a quick way to add full coverage sparkle.

The snowman dies are included in the Winter Woods Overlay set. I die cut all the pieces from white card stock and then used Copic markers to color all the different elements before assembling the snowman.  I added shading to the body of the snowman with BG70 & BG10 markers. This really helps define the snowman’s body and makes him stand out from the background. I used a white gel pen to add stripes to the scarf and some highlight details to the hat and carrot nose.

To embellish the card and enhance the wintery theme, I added several snowflakes which have been die cut from sliver glitter card stock.  I also added some Gloss White Nuvo Crystal Drops.  I always love to layer elements on my cards and thought a skinny sentiment strip would look great over the bold die cut words.  I white heat embossed the sentiment which is from Typed Christmas.
