Hello crafty friends! It’s that time of year again for kids to go back to school.  My kiddos start next week.  I thought it would be fun to make a card to mark the occasion and give to my son’s fifth grade teacher.  I pulled out one of my favorite fall stamps sets from last year to create fun little scene.

I started with an A2 size white card stock panel.  I blended on some blue ink (a combo of Tumbled Glass & Blueprint Sketch Oxide Inks) around the top and sides.  I used the new Buffalo Check Background stamp to create a patterned border strip and adhered it to the bottom edge of the panel.

Next I die cut all the letters and the number two to spell out the greeting.  I used the Oliver Alphabet and Charlie Number dies. I made a banner for the word “back” with a small tag die that’s included in the Gallery Frame #4 die set.  I strung the tags onto some baker’s twine and secured them to the top of the panel on a slight curve.  I taped down the ends of the twine at the back of the panel and added a bow to the left side.

All stamped images are from the Autumn Gatherings set except for the hooray flag the fox is holding.  The flag is from Elephant Friends.  I Copic colored the images and then used the coordinating dies to cut them out.  The Autumn Gatherings dies cut around the hands of the critters allowing you to add their accessories.

Copic colors used for the critters:

  • girl squirrel – E41, E42, E43, E44
  • boy fox – E13, E15, E17
  • boy squirrel – E33, E34, E35, E37
  • girl fox – E11, E13, E15
  • white areas shaded with W0 & W1
