Hello!  This is Nicky with you today and I’m happy to be sharing this no-line watercolour painted card using Storybook Friends which formed part of the most recent summer release.

To make the card I firstly stamped the main background image that is included in the stamp set using Distress Ink in Antique Linen onto an A2 panel of Bristol Smooth cardstock.  I watercolour painted this background using Kuretake Zigs in Green Shadow, Light Green and Pale Dawn Gray.  The sky was done using Haze Blue.   Once dry, I stamped the sentiment using Memento Ink in Fog and applied this panel to a sturdy 110lb white cardstock base and set it to one side.

On more Bristol Smooth I stamped my adorable bunny and mouse images again using the Antique Linen ink.   I watercolour painted these images using the following Kuretake Zigs in Oatmeal, Beige, Mid Gray, Green Gray, Light Gray, Warm Gray (2), Yellow and Light Pink.  I also used two Tombow ABTs in 761 and 020.  The images were die cut and given a white gel pen highlight to each cheek.

Time to assemble the card and for this I used the new Gallery Frame #4 Die.  I die cut a panel of 110lb white cardstock.  I used both the outer and inner die cuts that it comes with although with the inner cut I did use my craft scissors to neatly snip out the ‘windowpane’ cross pieces.  This gives a really lovely substantial frame to your focal point.  I flipped them over, recessed the inner portion within the outer frame and backed them with dimensional foam tape which I then stuck to my painted background scene.

I also backed my critters with foam tape and stuck them down too.

I decided no further embellishment was needed on such a sweet and innocent scene and with that the card was complete.  Here’s one last look for you and you’ll note I paired it with a nice green envelope to make the card really pop!

Have a wonderful day!
