“It’s delightful when your imaginations come true, isn’t it?”
― L.M. Montgomery, Ann of Green Gables

Hello Bluebird friends!  I love starting off a visit with a lovely quote, and this one seems so appropriate (she smiles).    I’m here to share a card I’ve created with one of the newest Hello Bluebird April 2019 release sets, Fly a Kite.  It is delightful when one can imagine the childlike characters of the forest flying a kite together isn’t it?  Recently, I’ve been talking to my blog friends about mediums and styles.  Today I am sharing my love of not only building scenes, but using patterned papers to my card design.

I began creating my card by stenciling some very light clouds across the sky with distress ink, and then die-cutting patterned paper that has an outdoor feel to it by using the Hill and Dale die.   The natural hill and dale look of the patterned paper has a contrasting color that provides a little perspective as well.  Even the flock of tiny birds flying on the horizon carries your eye across the card.  Next I used the two smallest cloud dies, and the sunshine from the Rainbow Sky set and die-cut them from another patterned paper salted with itty bitty white hearts and some Lemon Tart card stock tipped with a darker yellow (Copic Y08), then I tucked Mr. Sunshine behind the cloud.

All of my character pals are from the Fly a Kite stamp set and are just the cutest!  They are all colored with Copic marker and placed in a happy scene frolicking down the path lined with stones from the Pond Builder die set.  Bumble bees ride along as the kites sail high into the air!  Building scenes with patterned paper is just one way to provide interest, and even depth to your card designs.  I hope I’ve inspired you to give it a try.

The magical world of make believe and the characters that live in it.  The Hello Bluebird April 2019 Release provides the beauty of the imageable!

Have a lovely day,

Susie ~
