Today I’m sharing a card I made for my niece’s birthday. She loves animals and pink, so that was the starting point for my card. I think the Skating Party set is perfect for winter birthdays. I decided to create an indoor skating party scene.

I began by stamping my images with a copic friendly black ink, them colouring them in with a colour palette of turquoise, pink, and purple.

I also stamped and coloured the string of lights from the Halloween Party stamp set. This stamp is perfect for year round cards. I’d recommend die cutting first and then stamping for the lights, as it’s easier to align that way. I die cut everything with the coordinating dies, then set them aside to work on the background.

From a piece of white card, I die cut the Gallery Frame #2. I only need the outside frame on this card. I inked it with WOW embossing ink, covered it with WOW Taffeta Pink embossing glitter, then heat set it. It’s so sparkly!

Next, I cut a piece of card to fit inside my frame. I then used a die from the Hill & Dale die set to cut down this panel. I heat set it with WOW Diamond White embossing glitter to create my skating rink. On the other piece, I added a brick wall pattern using a stencil and a light grey ink. I then adhered both pieces onto my card.

I adhered down the strings of lights to my card with liquid adhesive, and the critters with foam squares. I added some glitter and glossy accents to the lights.

Using the new Charlie Numbers die set, I die cut a ‘2’ from white card. I embossed this with the same embossing glitter as the frame.

To finish, I cut a banner using a die from the Stitched Tag Builder set and added some light copic colour. I stamped a greeting from the Just Sayin’ stamp set, then added the banner with foam squares to my card.

Have a lovely day,
Gemma
