Good morning! Jess here with a simple blended card that packs a powerful Christmas sentiment!
I started by blending cracked pistachio distress ink around the bottom of a card panel in a loose ‘u’ shape. Then I added a little stormy sky distress ink to the top to close off the ‘u.’ I blended black soot above the stormy sky to add a little depth to the background. I blended them together and then added a tiny bit of broken china around the bottom. I kept the middle white for my sentiment.
I splattered and spritzed the panel with water and then dried it with a heat gun to lighten areas of the distress ink. Then I splattered it with white gouache and gold finetec watercolor paint. I let that dry completely and then stamped the sentiment and star from O Holy Night with versamark and heat-embossed it with WOW gold pearl embossing powder. The embossing powder really matches the finetec paint beautifully! Finally I went in with a white gel pen and highlighted a few of the white dots to get some bright white stars in my night sky! It’s a simple card but I feel like the blended background really adds a lot of impact to the sentiment! Thanks so much for stopping by and have a wonderful day!
